These images were taken at the Peace Rally in San Francisco on January 18, 2003. My intent is to convey the peaceful nature of all 300,000 participants durring this protest against the impending invasion of Iraq. The most striking aspect of this day, besides the shear numbers and eclectic makeup of it's participants, was the total lack of garbage and litter in the streets after the event. One could observe marchers stopping to pick up refuse along their way. This pictorial is meant as a peaceful protest to the war in Iraq, not as a statement against the brave men & women who are putting their lives on the line in the service of our country. While I oppose the war, I applaud the commitment of our soldiers, and I cry for every one that has paid the ultimate price. They are my heros. May they find peace in their travels.
