This Common Gull was ringed with the code Wm/BuRBu as a male pullus on May 20, 1995, in Poland near Kobylnica, 100 km south from Warsaw, (51 40'N, 21 35'E), approximately 1200 km east of Katwijk. Interestingly, this gull was found breeding in Germany approximately 700 km from the hatching site. This is unusual as this species has a high breeding-site fidelity. It was sighted in the Oegstgeest and Katwijk area in the winters of 2003, 2009, 2011/2012, and again in oktober 2016.
