The Lesser Black-Backed Gull was marked as 3rd CY approximately 1950 km SSW of Katwijk in Quinta de Marim. Olhão, near Faro, Portugal ( 37° 1.252'N, 7° 49.822'W) on May 22, 2011. The bird was rehabilitated at RIAS (Wild animal rehabilitation and investigation centre) based in the south of Portugal, in Olhão. This bird was seen in Katwijk on September 22 and 24, 2016. Probably it bred in the vicinity of Katwijk.
