This collage is made to,for once and for all let the world see, that Caravaggio doesn't only paint sexy boys with a homosexual tendency.
If you know "el Lobo Caminante",the artist he portraited here, you immediately will know that it is quite the opposite ;-))
Carpe Diem et Sursum Pectoralis et Sternum ;-))

Anyway be carefull :))))
It has come to be taken for granted in most Caravaggio criticism that the painter himself was homosexual (or perhaps bisexual), and that his work—especially the early portraits of scantily clad boys—has a powerful homoerotic component. These perceptions, or assumptions, have produced some astonishing critical documents. The most authoritative—and tendentious—text for the documentation of homoeroticism in Caravaggio is a 1971 essay by Donald Posner. For Posner, Caravaggio's "fleshy, full-lipped, langorous young boys" assure us of the painter's homosexual tastes.

LOL what confusion :)) Michelangelo Merisi is worldwide known as: Caravaggio .... Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni: in this phrase the translation is: Michelangelo son of Ludovico Buonarroti Simoni. His name is simply: Michelangelo Buonarroti....... I hope this help.....:)))) Carpe diem :))

I had to "google" that question my friend.and to my surprise there was more than one Michelangelo ;-))
The right image is from the late Michelangelo Merisi.
From whom the painting on the left is,I haven't the faintest.I just merged them, and made them look like 1 painting.
Looks like the lady is there to fill your cup at any time ;-))
Probably that's why the big smile ;-)

Which Michelangelo? Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni or the
late Michelangelo Merisi?
Caravaggio was a different Michelangelo.
But Caravaggio caminante outlived the real Caravaggio, has no such temper and can't paint as the real one did. ("Can't paint at all")
But anyway he is a nice guy and very honored to be Hoderos best friend.
And maybe all men have the same fate as in the painting of the real Caravaggio of
"Judith Beheading Holofernes"
Skol!!! To be honest I prefer to be "Bacchus"
