The view of the two brass spurs on DSC6751.jpg. Civil War collectors and dealers for years have called this type/pattern spur a Confederate Spur. We do know that this type/pattern was exclusivelt worn by Confederate cavalry due to excavated specimens from Confederate campsites. Obviously, the spurs shown would dismiss that theory, and one could conclude it would be a civilian style or pattern spur produced in the 1850s or earlier. Do you have any information regarding the production of these spurs and/or the equestrian equipment in your museum. Measurements of the spur would be appreciated or a close up side view would be greatly appreciated. I am currently compiling a pictorial reference of spurs worn by Confederate and Union Cavalry. Any information or better close-up view would be appreciated. Sincerely..Sanford Potts, Columbia, TN
