Rabat is the capital of Morocco. The great walls enclose a largely modern city of wide boulevards and bureaucratic-looking buildings. Bust several quarters remain to remind of Rabat's rich past, including the ancient Kasbah des Oudaias and Sale.
Rabat has a relaxed atmosphere. In contract to Fes and Marrakesh, there is little sign of hustle and hassle here, not even in the souqs.
