This is HMsGanges Jellicoe class 42 on Shotley routine photo taken by Mr Fisk camp photographer. This was end of 1956 . The whole class was punished because on bed check at 2am the marine doing rounds found all our beds empty. We all hid in the heads and he panicked. Hence 7days on the routine which meant getting up at 6am packing kitbag and doubling around parade ground for 30 mins . Wearing tin hats and gaters and doubling to every class and every meal. I am the skull and crossbones. The naval sense of humour started there and for myself lasted 25 years with loads of repartee, but sadly difficult to maintain it in civvy street. If anybody recognises themselves or a friend it would be nice to know . Class instructors were PO coxswain Mo Morris and CPo tiff Haskell.
