The 3 photos are of a funeral somewhere in the Pacific area. On the back it’s stamped
Fleet photographic section, British Pacific Fleet.
I’ve had them for years and they turned up again recently.
There are 3 postmarks on a very tatty envelope:- the first one is London 16th Oct 1941,
to St Austel to a Miss Frances Stocker, Highways, Sticker. 22nd Dec 1941
But the reason I kept them was they were then forwarded from Peterborough to Miss Stocker V.A.D. RN Sick Quarters, H.M.S Ganges Shotley !!!!!!
The war with Japan started 7th Dec 1941.
By the size of the wreath it was either someone of importance or a ship? There a lot of Civvies as well in attendance?. There are no prizes for a right answer but if any of you well travelled lads and lasses recognise the cemetery I’d be grateful.
