I was a new entrant 13th July 1971: I am in your photo of Leander Mess 26th Recruitment. After basic training I moved to Rodney Division 44 Mess. After finishing at Ganges I was drafted to Collingwood March 1972, Didn’t stay there very long and changed trades from JCEM2 to JEM2 at Daedalus the fleet Air arm School 26 June 1972. I was a member of the Portsmouth Gliding Club during my training at Daedalus and was asked by the captain to remain at Daedalus after training to go solo with the gliding club, I decided to go with my classmates and joined Heron as a JEM1 13th November 1972. Finally leaving the Navy as an LEM(A) in 1978:
I worked with British Airways Helicopters in Shetland 78/79, Joined Bristow Helicopters 79/87, joined the Royal Flight of Oman as Captain 87/2006, Bond Offshore Helicopters SAR Unit 2006/2014, Bristow UKSAR 2014/19 Now Retired.
