Ted Briggs first joined Ganges as a communications Boy on the 7th March 1938.
Ted Briggs was one of a crew of 1,421 sailors on board HMS Hood when it was sunk by the German Battleship Bismarck in May 1941. Only 3 men survived in the North Atlantic that day, Lt Briggs was one of them and the last living survivor for many years. Such a gent, the finest. Always had time and always had a story obviously.
Tribute by Geg Hopkins who is at the back of the photo "poking through".
Also in the photo are Paul Forester, Grahame Harvey, Mr. Wade from Wiltshire, Malcome Jones, Grahame New, Mr. Kennedy, Colin Mason, Mr Broadbent, Grahame Thorne.
