This is an archive photo from May 27th. I picked it specifically to remind me of yesterday when I look back on the day, as yesterday was a sad day for Sharon and I.
Meet Stripe (left) and Patch (right), 2 in a litter of 4 wild kittens that Sharon and I have been feeding and attempting to socialize, so that they could be adopted out by the Humane Society of Windsor. Stripe and Patch were the easiest to socialize, with Stripe the first to win our hearts and accept our touch. Patch followed Stripe's lead a week or 2 later. Both got used to us (and we to them) and played with us many times a day, for the past couple of weeks.
They are adorable and have the sweetest personalities. They were and are loved by everyone in our household.
Yesterday was the day we took Stripe and Patch to the Humane Society so that they could be vaccinated, flea-bathed and adopted, before they were harmed by the harsh outdoors (and/or multiplied). It was the hardest thing I have had to do in quite some time. Already I miss these two little scamps dearly and have to choke back tears whenever I think of them.
This is dedicated, with love, to Stripe and Patch.
