Sharon and I visited the Toronto Zoo this weekend
Got lots of great shots but this one needed to be posted first
It is a very sad story which could have been averted using common sense

1998 - "An orangutan from the Toronto Zoo died Wednesday despite a heroic attempt by a former lifeguard and his girlfriend to rescue the animal after it fell in a moat during a cookie-feeding frenzy.
"Kartiko," an 8-year-old Sumatra orangutan, died of respiratory failure Monday, said zoo spokesperson Patrick McCarthy.
The incident occurred when a family visiting the zoo ignored the "don't feed the animals" signs and fed the orangutans cookies and bread.
Kartiko fell into the moat when he and five other orangutans scuffled over the food.
Orangutans cannot swim and the animal sank to the bottom of the moat while his helpless father and mother looked on."

Please, people, use your heads when you visit the zoo .. ANY ZOO .. *DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS*
