These moths were all over the porch of the cabin rental office
I've never seen such a moth before
It is a One-eyed Sphynx Moth.

Hi Mike - I forgot to edit the description. I did ID this last month and actually uploaded the photo to BugGuide.net. Thanks for confirming. It is definitely a Spynx moth.

This is a sphinx moth, perhaps a lettered or walnut sphinx, but I'm not good with sphinx IDs. You might try posting this image to BugGuide.net, or browse the Sphinx moth plates at the Moth Photogrpaher's Group: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/Files/Live/Living40F.shtml
