Hello,
My name is Andres Alarcon. I was searching the internet one day of some former ball players that I played with in the hopes that they would still be in baseball in some fashion, either coaching or instructional. I was looking for a baseball clinic for my 10 year old son. Brian Parenti's was one of these ball players that I would've guessed would still be in the game is some form considering his talents and passion for the game. I played against Brian when I was the shortstop for Roselle Park High School. I was a well known player around Union Cty at the time and was beat out by Brian for the Star-Ledger All-State Group 1 First Team (I made third team). I believe Middlesex won the state championship in 1992. I was surprised to see Brian as my teamate in the Fall of 1992 at Raritan Valley CC. We made a great double play duo!!! When our Center Fielder got hurt Brian was moved to that position and I played Short Stop for about 15 games that spring. We were never friends nor friendly towards each other but we did have great respect for each others ability. He was more of a hard nose player and I more finess. Playing with Brian at RVCC in the fall of 92 & sping of 93 made me a better ball player, he was the first player I played with that brought out the best in me because he was my great competition. After I left school in the Fall of 93 to enlist in the Marine Corps I remember thinking that out of all the players on that team (we had pretty good team) Brian would be drafted. A GREAT BALL PLAYER AND THE BEST INFIELDER I EVER PLAYED WITH. I was very sad to read that Brian had passed away, it brought back alot memories of my time with him in 92/93. I read that you will be having your annual Brian Parenti Memorial Softball Tournament on Aug. 4th of 2012, and would love to attend but I will be away that day. PLEASE let me know where I could mail or personally give a donation toward this scholarship fund. I believe this is a great way in remembering Brian. Sincerely,
Andres Alarcon
