The Hare Krishna movement was inspired under this tree in 1966 during a Bhakti Yoga meditation by C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
The Hare Krishna movement evolved into ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and inspired several Beatles songs and the Broadway musical Hair.
