A beautiful dogwood tree once stood in the foreground of this photo. It was a companion to two other dogwood trees in the garden before it died a few years ago. NYU maintenance never replaced it. A number of azalea and rhododendron that were in the original Sasaki Garden have died also and were never replaced. About 2 years ago, NYU removed over 30 rose bushes and never replaced them. NYU has plans to destroy the entire garden in about 7 or 8 years to build two large administration buildings. Meanwhile, NYU maintenance is allowing the garden to waste away.
