Not sure why this wonderful neighborhood facility has been closed. I heard the The Children's Aid Society could no longer afford to run their outstanding programs here and sold the building and property to a real estate developer that wanted to build luxury condominiums. Later, it was rumored that NYU bought the property for an undefined purpose.
Unfortunately, it's another example of NYU's involvement in destroying the Greenwich Village community.
