McKean Fire Department of NY Boat at Pier 40

I'm told that the McKean was the first large fireboat to reach the passengers of US Airways Flight 1549 and helped prevent the plane from sinking.

The McKean was the first large fireboat to reach the passengers of US Airways Flight 1549, after "Sully" skimmed to a stop on the surface of the husband. The McKean, as I'm told, kept the airbus from sinking.
