Juan De' Prey lived from 1904-62. He is generally considered a prominent Puerto Rican artist. I am informed by his daughter, Mary, that his mother was Haitian and his father was French. His mother died when he was a very young child and he was raised in Puerto Rico. He moved to New York in 1929. These paintings were obtained directly from Juan De' Prey in his Brooklyn Heights store front studio during the 1950's. They are framed by the artist and painted on cardboard with mixed oil, crayons and charcoal.

The owner of these paintings does not wish to sell them.
