Jizo Buddha - Japanese Wood Carving
The Jizo Buddha is primarily known to be the protector of children.
This carving is probably mid 20th century done in the Muromachi (1336-1573) period style. The lotus base and halo are of different periods.
The carving is 21 inches high from head to toe.
