The Hadza are a small tribe of hunter-gatherers living in the Yaida Valley.
Their language is related to the San in southern Africa,
suggesting that they are an ancient culture
that dates back long before the Bantu and Maasai immigrations.
Today they are becoming politically aware of preserving their land rights
against encroachment by herders and farmers.
Hello. My name is Jessica from Wisconsin, USA. I have to say that this sight has brought back some very familiar faces for me. As I am working on a presentation for my son's elementary school on Africa - I came upon these Hadza photos. I studied with this very same group 9 years ago. It is like seeing long lost friends - Hamisi, Tano, and Will. I am so happy to see them looking healthy. The Hadza are the most generous and genuine people I have ever met and I am so glad to see these recent pictures. Thank-you!
