With a little excitement and a little worry, I was on the way to my first rock climbing outing organized by CMCNY, with the help of Victor, George, Mr. Chen, and Chung. It was raining when we driving there, but we were lucky that there was no rain during the climb! A lot people showed interest but only a few end up climbing.
Here are the participants: There were three brave girls, Chi, Sandy, and Sharron. (Sandy climbed TWICE!) Also there were five guys, Mr.Chen, Chung, George, Victor and I.
It was a very good outing, everybody enjoyed the climb. Victor did a very good job set up the rope and show us the beginners how to use the proper phrase(like "belay", "rock","on belay", "belay on", "take", "slack"...) to comunicate with each other. In the end, everybody was hooked, espeically Sandy who wants to buy the equipment rightaway. Who can blame her?! She did a very fine job for a first time climber.
BTW, Vitor told us at the end the diffculty we did is about 5.6! Not bad for the first time.
