On the evening of the reunion dinner Suzy Lindsay-Balduzzi presented Kathy Vogel's
parents to our group. As part of our reunion planning Sue established a campaign
to solicit donations for Kathy's House, which was created by the efforts of Kathy's family.
Information about the class donation was included in the reunion registration.
Many classmates donated generously to this deserving cause. Additional information
about Kathy's House can be found in the reunion booklet or on the homepage.

Sue asked me to give a little background information on Kathy's House.
"Dealing with a severe or even life-threatening of a loved one...
...a spouse, a brother or sister, a child or parent...
...is a devastating event with much uncertainty. Families living with
such illnesses face an uncertain prognosis, an uncertain impact on
family life, and even financial uncertainty.
Kathy Vogel-Kuettner lost her battle with Burkitt's lymphoma, a rare lymph cancer,
on July 4, 2001. Exactly one year later Kathy's House opened its doors. Kathy's House
is a non-profit organization which provides affordable lodging for families referred
by treating physicians. Kathy's House is volunteer-run and dependent on contributions
of others. We are happy to be able to present our class donation to the Vogel family tonight."
Sharon Uzelac-Kailas presented the class donation, over $3,300, to Kathy's parents.
Immediately afterward they shared their experience with over 4,500 families who
have been helped since Kathy's House opened its doors. It was a very moving moment.
