I collect and accumulate various accordions. Each instrument has a unique tone and way of playing. It's very hard to say one is my favorite because each one is better for some music than others. Accordions rarely age well without some loving care. There are usually hundreds of parts that all have to work almost perfectly to play well. If you have an old instrument laying around not being used take some pictures and email them to atjorgensen@gotsky.com and I will be happy to find out what I can about it for you. If you know of one that needs a new loving home let me know as I'm always looking for nice accordions from the 50's and 60's. Some look absoulutely beautiful on the outside but with lack of use the leather parts inside go bad, or the beeswax that holds the reeds in place dries out. It then becomes a challenge to find repair parts etc. for instruments that were manufactured by companies that went out of business 30-40 years ago with the demise of the popularity of accordions in the late 60's.
