Locals call this a Waxeye New Zealand

Wanaka NZ

I'm not sure what kind of bird this is. It was taken through the window pane of a B&B near Wanaka NZ. The owner called it a Wax eyed something or other...If you know I will post it here

We've always called it waxeye - the locals where I am, anyway.
