Impressions of the sports and athletes at the Golden League 2009 Memorial van Damme athletics event in the Koning Boudewijn stadium, Brussels, September 4, 2009. It was a stormy night with some showers and darkess fell early, so some images may be a bit noisy due to high ISO settings. I was confined to my seating area and had to shoot from up there, 40 metres from the nearest action, which makes most of the shots a bit impersonal. I had a good view of the finish line though and also of the women's high jump. Unfortunately the pole vault was at the other end of the stadium, barely reachable even with a 400 mm lens and 2.0 extender. The triple jump and javelin throw were at a very difficult angle, so I have only a few shots of those disciplines. .>
