On this, my first time visit of Berlin, the city showed its many faces. More so than in any other metropolis I found myself walking through time as well as space. However, capturing a city 35 kilometers east to west and 25 north to south in just one day and a half is impossible. This series has pictures from a boat tour on the Spree through the centre (Mitte) and to the southeast through an area soon to be redeveloped on a grand scale as 'Media Spree'. Still, you can find here pieces of the Berlin Wall remaining and some biotopes of freedom and protest. Added are some shots from my nightime wanderings, a morning walk through the Gründerzeit areas of Prenzlauerberg and from a visit to some eastern outskirts and suburbs of the city.
