I want to give this bike a much more bling image, with a wink to the old-style CB750 from which this bike is loosely inspired. I went to KAS Racepaint in Kettering (UK) to bring tank, side panels and top box cover for repainting. Paul is the helpful owner of the place. His specialism is metalflake paint. I showed him my inspiration: Carpy's "Silver Ghost" CB750 and the normal Red CB750 K0/K1. Paul suggested I take "Honda Red" from his colour sheets and understood exactly how I wanted the stripe. The shape of the CB400 tank is not the same as the CB750 so you cannot simply retrace the stripy decals; if you follow the natural shape of the CB400 tank then the stripe would nowhere look like the CB750. I think that Paul has done a great job.
