I wanted a slightly warm tone, not much more than could be achieved with warm-tone paper. The Colour Balance tool in PSP seems very similar to that in Adobe software. My preference is for unchanged highlights, mid-tones at +10% Red, -10% Blue, unchanged Green and for Shadows at +5% Red, -10% Blue, unchanged Green. I feel more comfortable with this than with a completely neutral image but it speaks more of the 1950s than of our present century.
