This image was taken during the late afternoon in a room where the east-facing end wall is entirely taken up with glass doors and windows. The walls are painted white though the ceiling is slightly darker. The sun was shining outside so the daylight setting chosen was 'shade' rather than cloudy. The still life arrangement contains near black camera bellows which, in combination with the walls, gives an almost complete range of brightness. The red vase seems to be reasonably accurately recorded.
