Ik wil wel geloven dat het een bak herrie was. Dit concert is een hele vroege: Andy Summers was nog niet de gitarist, maar Henry Padovani, een corsicaan die amper akkoorden kon spelen. De solo van de eerste Policesingle "Fall Out" (een van de weinige nummers waar Padovani op speelt) werd gespeeld door drummer Stewart Copeland (!!!) omdat Padovani daar niet zo goed in was.

Erg mooi om deze foto's te zien! Er is maar weinig bewaard gebleven van deze beginperiode...

Great shots of a very young band,they were my favourites from the moment i heard "Roxanne" and "So lonely",and now I hear they are getting together again!
I look forward to seeing them together as a band again!:-)

Ik was een van de pakweg zeventig toeschouwerw en geloof me: het was een bak met herrie die weinig indruk maakte. Maar als ik toen had geweten dat... Ik kan me nog herinneren dat Sting voor het concert in de zaal stenciltjes uitdeelde, met wat info over zijn bandje, in van die typische punkvormgeving. Met een cartooneske illustratie van een 'cop'. Achteloos weggesmeten. Als ik toen had geweten dat... Volgens mij zou Cherry Vanilla toen ook hebben moeten optreden, het gerucht ging dat die voorheen personal manager was gweest van Bowie. Maar die kwam dus niet. Volgens mij zas The Police zelfs de vervangende act!

Hallo Hans, ongelooflijk dat je hier foto's van hebt gemaakt! Een portfolio van(historisch) belang inmiddels, kun je wel stellen. Tot voor kort bestond er nog veel onduidelijkheid over de data van zes vroege gigs die The Police met Wayne County & The Electric Chairs in Nederland gegeven heeft. En nu duiken er bij jou foto's van het concert in Dio op, en nog goeje ook. Nu is het nog wachten op de muziek. Heeft niemand toevallig z'n "bandrecordertje" mee laten lopen...?
