A smaller venue than the Colosseum, the Teatro di Marcello was also a popular place of entertainment in the first century AD. It was later converted to a fortress, then a Renaissance palace, and most recently upscale condos. It is the world's oldest continuously inhabited building. There are a number of ruins nearby.
