Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, is situated on the confluence of the Jhelum and Neelum rivers. It is at a distance of 138 Km from Rawalpindi/Islamabad (Pakistan) and about 100 Km from Leepa. Muzaffarabad, once known as Chakrhi Bahk, derives its present name from Sultan Muzaffar Khan, a chief of the Bamba Dynasty established in 1662. Cradled by lofty mountains is a complex of old and new buildings of Muzaffarabad city, containing a blend of varied cultures and languages.

Kashmir is "Heaven On Earth", lets make sure that any development we do, reduces the impact on the environment and generates an environmentally friendly, sustainable area. Think well into the future and leave enough space for roads and infrastructure so that the area could develop into an Eco City and not a ghetto. Where the people could live in harmony with the environment and not destroy it. Where jobs could be created and leading edge world class companies could set up and function. The people need to organise them selves, to put in place transparent, efficient systems, utilising the latest e-government and Geographical Information System (GIS) technology for the Land Registry systems and ran by a very few highly trained and educated honest people, with no interest in corruption. just came across to this website somehow...found it good apart from one thing, that is the focus of all stuff that is written about kashmir is to blame india and its occupation, i come from the part which is under pakistan occupation and i don't agree with pakistanis' as much as with indian. i would be better to stand rational and let the both countries know that it is unjustifiable occupation..it is neither part of india and nor its "Sheh Rag" of pakistan. Both countries been using kashmir territory for their political and militiay benifits , and who is being crushed, are poor kashmiris'! Deep down truth is, that india and pakistan are not democratic enough that some website will make any difference, but never the less you trying out your bit, so least i can do is to appreciate it! But Kashmir belongs to Just kashmiris, neither to pakistan nor to India.!!! Gharib Hanif you have done a lot of very hard work and I have seen your other websites as well and they are extremely good.
