Shahid Iqbal Qureshi Son of Late Mian Manzoor Hussain Qureshi

I just came across the photo of Basharat Shaheed's monument and thought I'd send a message. Basharat Shaheed sacrificed his life in the way of Allah and will always be rememebered for this. My uncle Mian Maqbool Ahmed Qureshi wrote a poetry book in memory of Basharat Shaheed.

Hiya just wondered if anyone was from Luton? since Ghazi lives there.
Samia 10-Feb-2008 21:07
wow! great effort......whoever has built this monument in the memory of Basharat shaheed, has done an admirable job. and please everyone who goes through this picture, make a Duaa for all martyrs.
lala arif 09-Jan-2008 17:00
palak is a city i had a dream in 1984 there was nothing to look like a city at the time. this was my cousin brother who sacrificed his life for kashmir he woke up the whole of kashmir in february 1973. the whole of mirpur was sleeping and it took his life to wake them up and on the gravestone in jammu the word "we gave our today for your tommorow" this is a way to express the fact that Bashaat had intended to make the difference and was sure that the difference would be made and it has.
Mukhtar Ahmed 02-Jan-2008 18:26
I'm a cousin of Basharat Shaheed. I'm hopeful his martyrdom will never be forgotten by Pakistani and Kashmiri people. His mission will be accomplished and Insha -Allah the sun of freedom will rise in Kashmir one day.
Tarique 15-Dec-2007 01:39
Salaam to all. A nephew of Basharat Shaheed so proud of him. Words can't explain. I salute Basharat Shaheed, Hanif Shaheed and Uncle Dilawar Ghazi for their action on that great day. A phrase from a Kashmiri Freedom Struggle book comes to mind. It is written on a gravestone in Jammu "We gave our today for your tommorrow ".
What a bravery. Kashmir is full of Shaheeds every corner you turn. This will carry on until the day of Azaadi. Insha Allah.
Will do a complete research and inform the website with as much information as possible.
Thank you to Mr Hanif Gharib for the photo and all the good comments.

Hi, I studied in Basharat Shaheed School Palak for 10 Years, we all are very proud on Basharat's Shahadat, I am in Uk Now but this tomb of Basharat Shaheed is always in front of my eyes, I never seen Shaheed's photo, I wish and hope that some body will post his photo on this website.
aamer 01-Aug-2007 23:52
this man was my cousin the house next to the post office palak is mine
Zakirah 22-Jul-2007 11:12
Actually he was born in neither,im assuming he was born in the village of Palaak (home town), closer to dadyal than mirpur-Mirpur is a long shot away (good 1 hour drive!). lol im not sure there's many pictures of him, if i can get my hands onto any i find i will be more than happy to post them to you inshAllah. As far as information goes, im sure we have a old tape of the chaos in London at the time regarding it stashed away someplace, alongside the local pakistani people who knew him and their comments regarding the whole surreal incident. Also i have seen random articles about him once in a while in pakistani newspapers and also somebody wrote about him in a book dedicated to Azad Kashmir. If i can get hold of the titles/articles, i will pass them on InshAllah.

FiAmanAllah

zakirah 03-Jun-2007 14:53
cool you mustve spoken to one of my cousins then hmm..lol, yeh alhamdulila it is quite nice to have a martyr in the family, but of course we never consider ourselves to be elevated than any other family because that would reflect pride and arrogance lol bless my grandma though, she never really has got over her son's death
Nadeem 30-May-2007 16:25
Today I was talking some one who is related to Basharat Shaheed and I realy feel elevated to have a chance of talking someone related to that person. Some people here are mentoning to be relatives of these hero's, what I can say is you are lucky.
zakirah 27-May-2007 10:23
woah thats so cool! if you live across the monument...you must live 'ipla morah' right? we live to the left of the monument..probably means your a relative anyhow LOL small little village world lol
ihtesham 23-May-2007 10:23

zakirah 17-May-2007 14:49
one can only imagine to say how beautiful the pictures look, however, to physically be there, onecan really feel the beauty of natural landscape...unlike the streets of polluting London !! lol

Sadia 28-Nov-2006 17:56
On the topic of Mirpur and Basharat Shaheed, there is another monument in memory of my Mamu (mum's brother) Basharat's companion, the martyr Hanif in central Mirpur. It would be interesting if a picture of this can be posted on the site. The only survivor of the event was my Cha-cha (Dad's brother) Ghazi Dilawar Khan. In honour of Basharat Shaheed and Ghazi Dilawar two schools, a boys and a girls school were named after them respectively. Please do not hesitate to post questions on this topic as we regularly visit the site and will answer them. Please take a moment to make dua for those who sacrificed their lives for this cause (AJK). Jazak'Allah.
Zakirah 24-Nov-2006 15:50
He was my Taya !!:D (dads elder brother!! )
