In mid-August, to escape Dallas' summer heat, we drove to Destin, Florida. Glenna and I, Kelly and Gary, and our wonderful Chinese son, Boyuan Wang (Dou Dou), our exchange student from two years back. It wasn't any cooler, but the ocean breezes helped us pretend that it was. Our dear friend, Margo McCord, flew in from Roanoke to join us for the week.

Enjoy.
The beach viewed from our deck.
A few steps, and you're ON the beach.
The view, looking left. . .
and right. . .
and straight ahead.
Gary did most of the cooking.
He says he enjoys it.
That's good...we all did.
He bought fresh fish at the market. . .
he didn't sample everything,
but what a colorful show
and delicious dinner.
Pompano Joe's. Fabulous food! An easy walk from our beach house.
Looks like Kelly enjoyed it.
It looked like rain one day. . .
but it went around us.
Good boys -- to put sun block on.
"Stinky's"? Strange name, but the food is wonderful.
So's the beer.
Glenna likes thin burgers, but she makes a BIG exception for Stinky's
Thick hunk of meat, a chunk of deep-fried brie -- bye-bye diet.
