The largest and most prosperous Roman Catholic Church in Holyoke, and home church to much of the cities Irish-Catholic political establishment, Holy Cross sits astride a key intersection that separates the city's "Highland" section from the poorer, more industrialized center city yet still further below. The church sponsored a secular memorial to the late JFK on the southernmost corner of its grounds and I've included shots of that here as well. The close relationship between politics and religion is not hidden in Holyoke.
