The tidal basin is in my opinion the most restful place in central DC. Here I took photos of the Jeffereson Memorial and the Monument (prettier here than on the mall, again in my opinion). I also managed to catch a resident doing her best to read and relax, as well as one of the ubiquitous military heliocopters that now routinely traverse the basin.
