My neighbor has cut his extensive garden to the ground, leaving much detritus to turn back into topsoil. He had enough cherry tomatos to feed an army. It hurts me to see so much food go to waste (not only these, but two other types of tomatos, peppers, corn, and beans.) But since he didn't offer any to me, and didn't use much himself so far as I could see, a lot of it is now just rotting away.
I thought this shot of the cherry tomatoes, many still edible, made and interesting narrow focus shot, both suggesting the quality of the remaining fruit and the desolation of the cutting down.
The school bus shot was a grab shot. As I was walking up the driveway to the street, I heard the commotion of young boys horsing around. I shot quickly, and after straightening and cropping to put more emphasis on the bus, I liked the shot. So I put it in the bucket.
