An ongoing tradition in the Nikon Cafe, the week 50 meme "Nifty Fifty" takes place during the 50th week of the year (this year Dec 11-18) and features participants shooting with either a full-frame film or digital SLR, or the equivalent lens for APS-C digital cameras or 4/3rs cameras. The idea is to take this often forgotten and overlooked lens out for a spin, challenging ourselves to take interesting pictures with this so-called "normal" lens. This year I have chosen to team my full frame digital D600 Nikon camera with a manual focus, inexpensive little 50mm lens (the Nikon 50mm f/1.8E) that was introduced many years ago along with the Nikon FT camera. It is a no-frills lens, without coatings of any kind.
The meme requires shooting and posting on the seven sequential days. Up to three photos are allowed each day.
