Takeo Governor orders the removal of all beer banners in Takeo Province

Takeo Provincial Governor Vy Samnang issued an order at the first meeting of the Provincial Administrative Unity Command, ordering the relevant experts to remove all beer advertisement banners in the whole province.

Speaking at a meeting of the Takeo Provincial Administrative Unity Command on July 5, 2024, the Governor of Takeo Province said: “The order to drop the beer billboards aims to promote the well-being of the people, especially children, because it can adversely affect children and can lead to drinking,” he said.

At the same time, the provincial governor directed the Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, as well as relevant experts and local authorities, to notify all breweries that are putting up beer billboards on state public lands to remove or replace them with billboards related to public health, good educational content, or broadcast as pure water.

Taking that opportunity, Samnang announced that, on behalf of the Takeo Provincial Administration, it is prohibited to place advertisements for alcohol, drugs, and all forms of gambling, and that this type of advertising is not in the minds of the Takeo Province Board of Governors, particularly all advertisements that affect people’s health.
