Hope you're still on here. It was McVan's. My Great Aunt Lilian owned it & my Grandfather & Grandmother worked there as a bartender & hostess. My brother, sister & me use to go there & visit all the times until we were around 6. We would run upstairs because that is where the lady would be making all the showgirl outfits fit for Las Vegas today. We would have great family reunions there. Tony Oddi would make my sister & me come up on stage & dance (I hated that part). It was a very cool place in the 50's. I was just looking at some old pics from McVan's & saw the pics of Tony & Googled him & got this site.

Herme, the name of the club you describe (on Niagara St., in Buffalo) was called "McVan's." McVan's was a very popular night-spot from (approximately) the 1940's-1960's. I have a great old picture of my lovely Grandmother (Yvonne) pictured there from around 1948 - I think she was celebrating her birthday. Tony Oddi was indeed the long-time emcee/host and many "song stylists" and dancing acts performed there over those many years.
