Karen Stuebing05-Dec-2005 12:09
Wow, what a mass of humanity. And it just goes on and on. Super capture of Xmas crowds.
Buz Kiefer05-Dec-2005 12:03
Nice shot.
Guest 05-Dec-2005 09:07

OMG! How can you blow up the sky highlights at night? Only with a Canon!
Cindy Flood05-Dec-2005 03:24
I'm with Di, shop online and avoid this. It is a great documentary shot.

As we discussed yesterday morning this shot documents well why I didn't go to Christmas on the Prado (screw the PC label). This is a dramatic shot Herb... almost overwhelming in the feeling of masses of humanity. Wonderful work. Great DOF considering the lens.

Quite a crowd. It's amusing to see how many people are on their cellphones.
Al Chesworth04-Dec-2005 19:00
Busy busy a few people watching you.
Guest 04-Dec-2005 18:17
Such a busy street. You've got a nice place to capture this one.. :)
Olaf Herrig04-Dec-2005 18:14
A nice scene.
Phil04-Dec-2005 18:11
Plenty to look at here! and only one person is looking at you!
Jackdad04-Dec-2005 17:56
looks like a good spot for some Christmas shopping but everyone looks rather stressed by the crowds. you got a good vantage point!
Gary Winters04-Dec-2005 17:53
I got there a few hours later. I parked on Park Boulevard next to a sign that said NO Parking - You WILL be towed. I wasn't. Crowd was still huge at 9:30 p.m. I was able to get through everything without buying anything. You?

The thumb looked like an oriental bazar, but it obviously is not. ;-)
Dan Chusid04-Dec-2005 17:11
Heading over there for the Thread Fashion & Style Show
later this afternoon at the Aerospace Museum.
Wonder if this will still be set up...

Hopefully NOT so I can Park!

This is a great study of our modern culture.
In my mind, the name game is moot.
If we were truly "correct", shopping would not be the main focus of the season.
Di04-Dec-2005 16:43
I'm with Gary....way too many people for me! That's why I do most of my CHRISTMAS shopping online.
Guest 04-Dec-2005 16:30
Man, this is too crowded for my liking, give me the wide open spaces of Montana any day. Nice capture of the crowd though...
JW04-Dec-2005 16:17
They don't look very happy! Maybe the stress of, er, holiday shopping is getting to them.
Guest 04-Dec-2005 16:02
Great shot Herbert, it looks a little more crowded then it was on our last visit!
I thought the politically correct brigade were only in operation over here!
Best wishes
Chris
