Monastery of Hoog-Cruts in Hoogcruts on the road between Noorbeek and Slenaken; a chapel of the Order of the Sepulchers, build in 1428. Plundered by the army of William of Orange (Willem van Oranje) in 1568 and burned down by the troops of Alva. Rebuild in 1603, but has suffered from many fires and demolitions, e.g. by Napoleon.
Now completely deteriorated after a fire in September 1975. Last in use as a home for psychically and physically disabled (Paulus Stichting).
