St Peter's Roman Catholic Church

Nowgong, India

Reflection, 11 years later.
It was 11 years ago when we visited Nowgong, we landed there, actually by accident, when we travelled from Orchha to Khajuraho.
I noticed a traffic sign stating 'old English church' or 'English cemetery' (I don't recall that anymore) but as one of our group was English we decided to have a closer look.
The place was deserted.
It was the silence that struck me most and also the fact that although the British had left India more than 60 years earlier, the church was as if it was abandoned yesterday

The Cemetery is not at the same place as the church. I visited it as well. It is in bad condition. Many graves are unrecognizable, and most grave stones are damaged. I took some pictures of them. You have a name for me, so I can check my pictures?

What a beautiful picture! Do you know the name of the church or the Nowgong Cemetary as I think I have an ancestor buried there.

Many thanks
