Analyzing Anna

Early morning walk with my human. Low sun and some patches of fog in De Braak park.

The morning news told us that Saddam Hussein was hanged at dawn in Baghdad.
He died the very same way many Galgo’s die in Spain, but for a different reason of course.
Saddam was hanged for his crimes against humanity, he was a cruel evil dictator.
Will it do any good to have him dead?
For most humans in Iraq life has not changed for the better. There’s more danger and violence now
than there was when Saddam was still in power. Democracy is still just a word in Iraq.
Maybe, instead of seeing him hanged, GWB secretly would have preferred to put Saddam back in power,
as an 'exit strategy', so the US could finally have pulled the troops out...
Almost 3.000 US soldiers have died since the beginning of this war.
The number of extremists and terrorists has grown and they're more violent than ever.
This mess isn’t over yet...

My human is against the death penalty. He can be a softie sometimes.
I’m not so sure. Saddam asked for it. What do you say?

Have a sound Saturday!

Love the photograph and the thoughts. This human agrees with your human. Some small, "base" part of myself cheers the death, but my overriding peace-seeking self is never happy about the murder of any living creature, no matter what the background or circumstances. Not only will it do no good, but the act lowers all of us to the same plane of existence as the executed. "Peace is the only battle worth waging." (Or something like that.)

That's a tough question, Anna. I'm like your human, I don't know what good it does... Will the killing stop now? I think not...
