Joop's Dog Log - Tuesday June 22

Sometimes my human wonders about me.
What is Joop looking at, he asks himself. He looks in the same direction,
but doesn`t see anything out of the ordinary. Nothing at all.
I can`t explain. This is something only dogs know about.
See, some of us dogs have an extra dimension of smell, sound and vision. We do!
There are unspeakable things in this secret dog dimension. Both pleasant and scary.
Fairies and demons and ghosts and spirits. Poodles and pitbulls,
cats and rodents. Distant thunder and inviting food smells.
I can`t give you any more details. That would be dangerous.
This is not for humans, it would be too much for you.
But this is why we sometimes stop and stare.
I thought you should know.

So what do you say: is this little story good enough for a cookie?

Moin Joop! Yes, pointing to the edge of the universe with our miracles eyes..and the humans are too poor equipped to see, hear and smell what we can. We KNOW that stupid Barney will be coming around the corner the next minute, long before the dump and blind humans do. They only can react when they SEE things and that is toolate quite often. This telling little secrets of our dog power is not only good enough for a simple cookie, it is "pucks-level"!Also worth a giant cookie for your shadow-chap on this photo...did your human already put THE QUESTION for soccer tomorrow? Have a nice day!

Goedemorgen JOOP.

Man Joop, for that story you should get a bucket of cookies! (but don`t tell them all of our secrets! We have faeries in our herb garden, too, but my mom doesn`t know!)

Sure it is! As many cookies as you want, just ask your human and tell him that I said you deserve it. I always see a show on TV "John Edward`s Crossing Over" (ok, don`t say anything!!), he says dogs really can notice things that we can`t, like dead people making a quick visit... well, forget it, go ask the cookies!

Thanks for the explanation Joop. I have asked Merlijn about this sudden staring many times. But he never came up with a proper answer. A big cookie for you and a smile for your humans.

"Joop, if you got all the cookies your deserved you´d be as fat as a cow! :)" Magali
"Joop, here´s an explanation that might make your human more comfortable about dog thoughts. Many years ago Luciana read in a scientific magazine that everytime an animal (a dog or a rabbit or a human) recognizes a smell his brain organizes its eletromagnetic waves into a specific pattern. Maybe that´s why we´re thrust into an inner reality - sometimes a far away memory. Luciana smelt a lemon last night. And she was thrust to her grandhuman cottage 30 years ago..." Flô

Dogs...magical. Reminds me of Milton (or Keats, can`t remember right now:) "Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter". And yes, a cookie for you, Joop.

Yes Joop! If you had a pen in your paws, you sure would be a great writter indeed!!
But you`re right. We can see and hear things that sometimes are beyone human`s eyes or ears... that`s why my humans sometimes call me "little person", because according to them, I`m almost human... well... I have to disagree on that... I can`t stand on my two paws and walk straigh...
Anyways... I saw your other picture... that rock... I remembered the story that you told about it... very special! au au au Nicki & Elô

p.s.: I am sure you get cookies just for sitting there looking sweet. Rabbit pudding? Can`t you just have it raw? ;-)

Joop, I found your own site! I love you and my pleasure to put you on my FAVORITES! Joop, you are so wise. You remind me of my belated beagle, Detective Spuds E. Swartz. People are catching on, as I am taking a class in animal energy healing and I am working with an abused horse. Joop you are AWESOME and full of WISDOM. Suzy
