Joop's Dog Log - Tuesday June 01

Had a little argument with this dog.
He was coming at us with an attitude. Wouldn`t let us pass. Growled and tried to look mean.
Hey, you know I can be fierce if I have to. I must protect my humans.
So I growled back at him, took my position, raised my neck hair,
waited for the right moment and ... jumped!
He had no answer. Never saw me coming. It was over in seconds. All he could do was run.
Turned out later he wasn`t such a bad guy.
Said he had mistaken me for a Jack Russell terrorist who lives in the next town.
We made up a little further down the road. It`s what dogs do. Settle and make up.
No problem.

Ha die Joop. Ach wat zie ik nou je hebt een speelkameraadje gevonden. Wat een enige hond is dat zeg. Nou jullie hebben het best naar je zin zo te zien. Is het zo maar een hondje of is hij bekend voor jouw. Leuk hoor. Tot morgen JOOP.

Yo, Joop - you`ve got him spinnin` & your battle flag`s raised high! I`m glad you guys worked a truce, prolly mark the same trees to show togetherness. Your cameraman`s got great reflexes to catch this shot! You quoted your weight months ago. Are you a bit
under 30 lb? Certainly bigger than any jack Russell I`ve seen.

Moin Joop! Absolutely great job and I do envie your human having such strong nerves to take a photo in a situation like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hut ab for both brave guys....and what will you be doing if the next passing dog is bigger? This is the main problem of a pack of two basenjis: they feel as big as a bear, but the mouths of the others are indeed bigger.Maybe my nerves aren`t strong enough to test if B&P would be able to do such a cool performance...even after 2 weeks of holydays. Countdown for the last few days is on, have a good start into the new week and please give an extra megasuperbigmammuttriple cookie to our Joop-hero!

Well, I`m proud of you too, Joop, or I think I am. Mostly tho I am proud of yr human for having the wherewithall to take a shot like this. Super job!! Yr all in focus, looking totally in charge, and the userper is looking like this fuzzy bag of hair! That`s damn fine camera work, Joop! Now, about immediately fighting with every dog you come across. . .

I don`t think that little dog would do any harm to you... perhaps he wanted to become friends with you and you misunderstood... Have a nice Tuesday and take good care of each other! Oliver & Co.

Very brave indeed!! We must protect those who love us and those we care so much about. This world is so full of emptiness. We need more love and understading... so, protect each other is the least that we can do! Way to go Joop! au au au Nicki

"That´s the problem with Sunday papers, Joop: they are thicker but totally inconsistent. They bring nothing but advertising and gossip kind of things. That´s WHY Flô said she would adopt that posture to papers on Sundays: exactly NOT to SAY anything. And the 6,6 million teenagers who don´t go to school in Brazil unfortunatelly are NOT fotologging: they´re working, begging, stealing or have gone into drug dealing..." Tizuka

Wow, Joop, this is an amazing photo! Your human must be very calm with great reflexes to take a photo in such an alarming moment! We met a jack russell terrorist last week. He just appeared out of nowhere, teeth bared, running at us, then, just ran away! My human shrieked, and she thinks that scared him away, but I think it was my ferocious looks :-)

Nice move, Joop! Dogs and people too, have a little ritual of testing each other. The handshake evolved as a means of demonstrating tha† you are bearing no weapons of mass destruction

Glad to hear you made friends later, Joop, that is very cool. Girls like me are not quite so forgiving. I tend to be very selective and remember the wimps. For some reason they bug me, I have no patience for them. I do see a little bit of your hackles up, Joop, and I like you`re "I am huge" stance. -Sarah.

It was a simple case of mistaken identity....LOL Cute shot! Go Joop!! :)

Great timing on this shot. The blur shows which way the conflict will go.

Bruiser had a big laugh. Probably his cousin who's been outlawed (the Jack Russell Terrorist). To many bad cookies. Anyways - way to go Joop!
