Joop's Dog Log - Friday Apr 23

Squirrel!
Saw a squirrel, chased it, there it goes!
A squirrel, a squirrel, a squirrel
It`s up there. Shake the tree, do something, quick!!
Jeez. Humans are totally useless in a squirrel hunt.
They think of squirrels as a Disney product.
Almost had this one, almost!

Joop, I almost had a squirrel too. Maybe next time my human will let me out when I first see it and not after it runs up the tree. Miki :)http://www.pbase.com/image/28097462

Good luck on your next hunt Joop. Squirrels seem to be a plaque. Lately you see too many of them on fotolog. I wonder how squirrel meat tastes... Do you know? ;o)
Have a good friday and give your human a paw from me.

Groetjes DIEN.

Well, Joop, I gotta tell you, big guy, I like to think you and I have a good friendship. You say stuff on my f`log, I say stuff on yrs. Now a good friendship for dog and human means, to me anyhow, the occasional friendly smooch. Fine! Of course, distance makes said friendly expressions more of the fantasy realm. That`s okay too. Except now you`ve gone and added a rather nasty dimension to my imaginings. Ummmmmm, squirrel fur between yr teeth? Squirrel breath? Ewwwwww! Hey, dude, some things ought to be private, you know?

Moin Joop and Henk, we are late, but...you know these Fridays......one question to our Dutch friends: what kind of celebration are you preparing? The 30 April is the birthday of your oldie queen that passed away, this is clear ( our humans will visit their Dutch friend Theo on that day and he is expecting the guests to come dressed in orange for the honour of Juliana ) We are really glad that we are not invited, cause orange does absolutely not go with our fur color....but we wouldn`t have excepted this invitation either because of Willy, Theo`s dog....he is not our friend. so hold on, Henk!

Keep trying Joop, you might catch it, don`t give up, ok?
Don`t ask anybody to help, as you said humans are useless in catching squirrels. If I was there I could help you though... Oliver

Hey Joopie, I think your name is great as it is, and suits you perfectly... however... if you lived in my home you would probably have an unflattering nickname like Joopie Poopie (that`s what life`s like with a 10 year old boy!)

wow, Joop, one more minute and you`ll be running up that tree. You look so strong and healthy, I wouldn`t be surprised. Squirrels...you can come visit me and chase `em all you want. Have a great weekend...and your humans, too.

Hello Joop, have I found a nice tree for you? Come take a look at my log and you`ll see. Don`t know if there are any squirrels. I didn`t seem them but there were a lot of kids! Do you like kids?

My dad, Midnight, is the squirrel hunter in our house. He sometimes stares at them until they creep down to his level and then he catches them. My mom trys to discourage this trait, but she can not. You are very cute, as always.

There's a dog named Auggie who lives at my brother's house in northern Wisconsin who shares your passion, Joop. He watches the house to be sure none of those pesky squirrels steal the bird food.

Look at that tail! You can just see the tension!

Having spoken about the seal cull - the Brit authorities are thinking of culling grey squirrels (thought of as vermin here) to try and save the reds - the natural squirrel in UK. This is a real problem for me, they are both lovely in their own way - AND fun to chase!! Max.

Always lovely.
(btw, changed camera?)
