Juvenile Bluebird

Westerville, Ohio view map

A juvenile Eastern Bluebird rests on a tree limb in Sharon Woods Metro Park near Columbus, Ohio.
The identification had me stumped, so I posted this image to BirdForum.net and let the experts there
assist with the ID - there is no blue in a juvenile Bluebird. The "tie-dyed" background is an out-of-focus
branch of the pine tree where the bird was sitting. Additional bird images are in my Birds and Animals gallery.

It's a great shot! The eye is quite amazing ... seems to be too big for the head. Well done.

Outstanding photo, Pat. The 'tye-died' background gives the bird an almost peacock feathers-look. Really draws the eye into the main subject. Very cool!
