Running in sunshine

Grove City, Ohio view map

Pistol Whip (2), urged forward by the whip of jockey Cesar Camaque, surges past Slide Back
and jockey Edgar Paucar in the home stretch to win the mile-and-70-yard fourth race at
Beulah Park near Columbus, Ohio. The sun had broken through the winter clouds, bathing
the two horses in a sunshine "spotlight" while the remainder of the track remained dark.

A superb image - yes, the sunlight helped, but your exposure, timing and composition are excellent as well.

This is an outstanding sports photo Pat. Catches the drama of horse racing and that they were in a single ray of sunlight hightenes that drama. It is amazing that the jockeys can see anything. Their goggles are covered with splattered mud from the pounding hooves.
A real beauty.
